        Maaden is committed to upholding and promoting human rights in all our activities, including exploration, mining, processing and transportation, in every jurisdiction in which we operate.

        We commit to implementing a structured human rights due diligence approach as outlined in our Human Rights Policy. This approach enables us to identify, prevent, mitigate, and account for the impacts we have on human rights, in line with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

        Our Human Rights Due Diligence Framework contains four steps:

        1. Risk assessment

        • Conduct a Human Rights Saliency Assessment to identify and prioritize potential risks across operations and supply chains, drawing on a variety of data sources including site visits and direct observation, community and worker engagement, and document reviews.

        • Assess risks based on severity (scale, scope, and irremediability) and likelihood (local conditions, historical data) and present on a heatmap

        • Engage stakeholders to address human rights risks, including employees, contractors, suppliers, and all community groups.

        1. Action to prevent or mitigate risks

        • Assess whether Ma’aden is a cause, contributor or has an indirect link to the identified human rights risks

        • Build on and ensure alignment with Maaden’s positions and standards, including, but not limited to: DEI, workers’ rights and collective bargaining, land connected peoples (including, where relevant, indigenous and tribal people) and displacement and resettlement.

        • Evaluate whether existing Company processes are adequate to address the risks and their ability to influence them, and where insufficient, improve these processes

        1. Progress tracking to monitor effectiveness of actions

        • Develop metrics to measure human rights-related activities, focusing on the most salient human rights issues.

        • Establish regular tracking of human rights performance, moving beyond one-off efforts and ensuring continuous engagement with stakeholders.

        • Implement regular management reviews of human rights risks to ensure accountability and improvement.

        1. Transparent communication of findings

        • Consistent reporting, ensuring human rights issues are tracked and reported regularly through public sustainability reports or other relevant disclosures, to ensure transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
